Abyssinia Affair
[edit]Shouldn't this part of history under Menelik be mentioned? (See article on William Ellis.) Kdammers (talk) 23:31, 17 June 2023 (UTC)
Name Ethiopia
[edit]The theory that Ezana did somehow appropriate the name after the conquer of Nubia makes no sense, he doesn’t refer to them as Ethiopians and secondly does not use the name to reference themselves thereafter. That theory does not wash. 2A02:C7C:36FF:3600:E5C3:603F:84F6:78D0 (talk) 05:02, 28 December 2023 (UTC)
Harari and harla
[edit]When did the harari or harla found ifat and adal which had its capital in zeila in Somalia. Provide sources that states harari or harla found the ifat and adal sultanate. Kagamid (talk) 17:21, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
Land of punt
[edit]The claim that the Land of Punt extended into Ethiopia is inaccurate. There is no archaeological or historical evidence to support this. The Land of Punt is believed to have been an ancient civilization, likely located in modern-day Somalia and Djibouti, not Ethiopia. Additionally, obsidian, which was traded between ancient peoples of the Horn of Africa and ancient Egyptian is not directly connected to the Land of Punt. The people of who traded obsidian with ancient Egyptian does not imply that the Land of Punt itself was involved in this trade, nor does it indicate the Land of Punt’s geographical location. The information provided about Ethiopia and the Land of Punt is misleading and lacks reliable sources. This can lead to the removal of the content if you don’t provide a reliable source. Otherwise, the issue will be debated, and the statement that Punt extended into Ethiopia will likely be removed, as it is false. Kagamid (talk) 17:35, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
