Citation needed for Latin name
[edit]The documentation for the latin_name field of Template:Infobox University reads as follows.
University name in Latin, if commonly referenced. This should not simply be a translation of the English name but should have a reliable independent reference showing use (possibly in abbreviated form) as the Latin name. Use only seen in self-published, primary sources, such as the institution's seal or degrees, is likely to be WP:UNDUE in the infobox. The name should be given in the Nominative.
I added a {{cn}} tag to the Latin name, and I believe that this is consistent with consensus. @EurekaLott:, Is it still your position that the seal is sufficient citation? McYeee (talk) 21:39, 21 September 2024 (UTC)
- This seems to be more of a common sense issue, no? MaximusEditor (talk) 22:32, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
- No, I don't think it is. Why would we include an obscure Latin name for the university in the infobox if the seal is the only place it's used? If that's the only source that anyone can find then it should be removed from the infobox. ElKevbo (talk) 22:42, 24 October 2024 (UTC)
